Between ages 16-29? Now is your Chance!

You are Invited to Join us at our 3 city wide Forums!!!

Why

Today, young people want their voices heard, and they want to affect change in our political system. More young people than ever before are becoming engaged in local community campaigns and other political activities. However, most youth issues are still left to adult allies to solve or advocate on.

This October’s municipal election provides a strategic opportunity for young people to influence political agendas and hold the aspiring elected leaders accountable.

Who

10,000 Youth Will Stand is an initiative that strives to engage young people from racialized communities ages 16-29 in the political process. The Creative Institute for Toronto Young (CITY) Leaders is a leadership initiative of United Way Toronto.

Free Forum

On September 17th 2010 at 6pm, the “Be Heard” forum will explore the Participatory Voting Process. Young people will present various campaign or areas of concerns that the group would like to focus an advocacy campaign on. The youth will then vote on the issues they would like to support as a whole.
