Location: Sherbourne Health Centre, 333 Sherbourne St., Toronto Module I:
October 15th (evening), 16th and 17th Module II: October 29th and 30th

AOP is a therapeutic approach that therapists and other clinical
practitioners can use with clients to support an empowerment-centred change
process to deal with the effects of oppression, trauma, and intersectional
violence in clients' lives. Exploring intersectional factors such as race,
class/SES, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation/identity, age,
(dis)ability, spirituality, and indigeneity are critical for AOP praxis. AOP
integrates anti-oppression theories and practices and psychotherapy to
understand and work with individuals and/or groups under internal and
external distress. The actualization of resistance and resiliency for
clients and therapists is vital to AOP.

SPECIAL REDUCED RATES Registration: $675 + HST

Limited spaces offered for students at a reduced rate of $575+ HST For more
info call (416) 503-9495 or e-mail: antioppression@healingconsultants.org

PREREQUISITE Trainees are required to have experience working and/or to have
studied psychotherapy, mental health, in community, educational, and/or
clinical settings. Participants are expected to have their own therapeutic
supports. This workshop is not therapy; however, the integration of AOP into
therapeutic practice is a profound internal and external learning
experience.

Note: This will be the last training in this format and at this price. 2012
and beyond trainings will be expanded into a more intensive therapy training
program, hence prices will change.
