RACISM IS REAL: Speaker's Corner

DATE: Monday, January 16, 2012 at 10:00am until Friday, April 20, 2012 at 6:00pm
PLACE: Students Against Racism Office SCC208 - 55 Gould Street, Toronto, ON

You're sitting in class and you hear a racist comment.
You don't know what to do,
and you're not sure of what you heard.

Students Against Racism is here to let you know that:
YES IT DID HAPPEN.
YES IT WAS REAL.
AND YES YOU CAN DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

This campaign called RACISM IS REAL will address the different actions one can take in order to challenge racism specifically within the classroom. Oftentimes, especially for racialized students, it is difficult to do something about a problematic situation, and to be confident in your determination that it is problematic in the first place.

Students Against Racism is here on campus to provide a service for students to not only speak out against racism, but to challenge it in a variety of ways.

This campaign will be launched in its entirety next semester, so stay tuned to our facebook page and mailing list for when that happens!
In the meantime, let's share:
WHAT DO YOU DO IN CLASSROOMS WHEN YOU HEAR/SEE SOMETHING RACIST?
