WE ARE GROWING!
The Learning Disabilities Association-Toronto is presently recruiting multiple PART TIME positions to join our S.T.Y.L.E. (Skills Training for Youth through Learning and Education) team as after-school leaders helping to equalize the playing field for youth living with a learning disability and/or AD(H)D. These youth live within Toronto's priority neighbourhoods.
STYLE program services youth living with a learning disability and/or AD(H)D between the ages ages of 13-21 living within 4 of Toronto's highest priorty neighbourhoods. STYLE provides free academic tutoring, life skills, social skills as well as recreational and healthy living/wellness programming. Since STYLE's launch in 2008, we continue to service over 300 youth DAILY.
If you would like to be a part of a program that is providing youth with the opportunity to be educated, empowered and engaged, WE ARE YOUR PROGRAM!
Programs run Monday- Thursday from 3-6pm. Successful candidates will be those that can work all four days
Ideal candidate qualifications include:
-Educational background in CYW/SSW and/or relevant professional experience
-Extremely proficient in secondary school (high school) subjects
-Experience working with at risk youth, newcomer youth, children- youth hailing from an African/Caribbean background
-Ability to engage, empower and educate youth and children
-Interest and experience creating programming and programs for youth- recreation/tutoring/ healthy living/wellness
-Ability to work independently within a team setting
-Self starting, takes initiative, creative and able to problem-solve
-First Aid and UMAB/CPI- an asset
-Successful police check
Please note
Interviews will begin ASAP. Successful candidates will start employment ASAP until June 2012.
STYLE presently services sites in schools in both west and east ends of Toronto.
