It is TRCC/MWAR’s
philosophy to empower women and establish a working environment of equity and
liberation; therefore we support full time work as we believe that contract
employment often positions women in a hierarchy of roles in any given
organization, does not provide women with sustainable income and perpetuates
classism and financial instability for women. When financial constraints
require that we hire on a contract basis, we take the following practical steps
to mediate the power imbalances: we create pay rates that are equitable
to full time rates, we provide vacation and benefits payments upon the end of
completed contracts.
