Child & Youth TherapistsJoin the Ministry of Children and Youth Services in making a difference in the lives of individuals.
You will:
• design and implement programs that promote independence in life skills, social, leisure and vocational skills
• provide direct care and therapeutic treatment in a residential or community environment
• set and review goals and record progress data for individuals with behavioural disorders
• organize family visits and provide feedback to parents and teach child management techniques
• plan, develop and participate in programming activities for clients
• advocate for individuals’ rights and needs
 

These three positions are contracts of up to five months.
Location: 51 Panorama Court, North York, with travel within service areas.
 

Qualifications:
• Ability to travel within service areas.
Therapeutic Treatment Knowledge:
• you have knowledge and experience working with children and youth
• you have experience with the treatment of children with various developmental, physical, behavioural and mental health disorders
• you have knowledge of therapeutic treatment programs, behaviour management and other child management and crisis intervention techniques and strategies
 

Analytical Skills:
• you understand and can interpret relevant legislation such as the Child and Family Services Act and related policies and guidelines
• you use your analytical and reasoning skills to identify disorders and reach consensus on treatment
Communication Skills:
• you have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
 

Mandatory Requirements:
• you must complete a vulnerable sector criminal reference check, which includes a police records check (CPIC)
• you will be required to obtain First Aid and CPR certificates
• you must work shifts, including weekends, flexible hours as related to program needs.
 

Salary range: $968 - $1,060 per week
