This position will allow a youth with previous experience in sales and customer service, with good communication and public speaking skills, to take a leadership role at the YIC (the Youth Innovation Centre), working to implement our sales strategy and ensure we meet our sales targets at Under the Radar clothing – a youth-led social enterprise specializing in tshirt printing and art/design projects.
This is a position funded by Service Canada and is open to all Youth ages 16-30 who are not in school and not currently employed. This is a full-time, contract position. Working hours are 10:00-6:00, Monday to Thursday and Friday being a full day in workshops.
Qualifications:
-Demonstrate ability to communicate well, is assertive, out-going and knowledge of another language an asset
-Basic experience in Microsoft Office platforms
-Retail, customer service, sales or marketing experience an asset
-Desire to collaborate with artists and youth and open minded to criticism
-Solid work ethic and enthusiastic about challenges
-Understanding of issues affecting our youth, and eagerness to engage youth
-Willingness to persevere in job search activities
Responsibilities:
-Overseeing and tracking sales activities, including monitoring sales of wholesale and retail tshirts
-Organizing information about clients on CRM software (training provided), working with Salesforce.com mentors
-Conduct research on cost-efffective, youth-driven sales strategies
-Mentoring volunteers in sales strategy, customer service and networking
-Report to LOFT Program Manager and YIC Project Coordinator
-Attend employment skills development workshops
Compensation: $9.50/hr x 37.5hrs/week x 20 weeks (minimum wage increase to $10.25 in effect after April 1 2010)
Start Date: ASAP
