Agincourt Community Services Association is a Non-Profit, multi service agency in the heart of Scarborough addressing needs and empowering children, youth newcomers and underserved communities to build a better tomorrow. We provide a range of social services and community engagement projects to the local community and a greater geographic area of Scarborough that includes several of the United Way high priority neighbourhoods. Our main activities include community supports, child and family programs, youth drop-in, young men's and women's programs, Youth Outreach Workers, homeless services, food security programs, community development work, and an information and referral services.
ACSA is seeking an individual with strong mental health clinical training and experience to work as one of 4 therapists in implementing Multisystemic Therapy (MST). MST is a well-researched community-based treatment model directed at youth involved in criminal activity and their family. Your work will involve working with families in an intense multi-faceted in-home program designed to promote positive behaviour change. You will utilize strength-based ecological assessments, individual to the youth and his/her family. The bulk of the work will be with caregivers and their support systems. This position involves working flexible hours, which will often include regular evening and occasional weekend work, including supporting the 24-hour on-call process. As well, you will assist in the collection and presentation of program statistical data when required, document family progress and prepare weekly reports. This program offers intense supervision and consulting.
Successful candidates will have a Master’s or Bachelors degree with experience. You will have a minimum of two years’ experience working with young offenders/multi-needs families, and knowledge of the CFSA and the Youth Criminal Justice Act. Strong writing, clinical assessment skills and word-processing skills; solid communication skills; and the demonstrated ability to work with multi-need families utilizing a goal-focused approach. The ability to work within a dynamitic team is essential. Sensitivity to culturally diverse populations would be considered an asset. Finally, the successful candidate must have a valid Driver’s License and access to a reliable vehicle.
