The York Youth Coalition (YYC) is seeking a private consultant to coordinate the network of youth servicing agencies in the former City of York (Greater Weston/Mount Dennis).

Description/Responsibilities:

• Liaise with community youth service organizations regarding all aspects of the network (York Youth Coalition – YYC)

• Develop and maintain a strong and formalized membership of YYC • Work with YYC members to strengthen the coalition’s governance and structure • Work with YYC members to develop an integrated short-term and long term work plan for the coalition • Support the collaboration and coordination of programs and services from local youth service providers. • Facilitate the flow of information to create a viable and sustainable integrated comprehensive system of

community agencies to address gaps and provide service to youth that is accessible community

stakeholders • Work with YYC members, Youth and community stakeholders in identifying needs, priorities and local

issues. • Work with YYC members and community stakeholders to create and implement a strategy to support

localized youth advisory groups with the aim of uniting youth in a youth council framework that will

engage youth in local and broader issues. • Develop a capacity building program for YYC members and youth council(s)/advisory groups • Support the development of a youth led approach to Crisis intervention • Support the of YYC committees and provide leadership when necessary • Support and facilitate knowledge sharing • Ensure ongoing, meaningful communication is maintained with all coalition constituents • Maintain the website post and electronic updates • Organize network events, activities and meetings. • Supervise intern(s) and volunteers
