 FYI YOUTH AMBASSADORS PROGRAM INFORMATION
The Youth Ambassadors Program is an integral part of The Bridge and For Youth Initiative (FYI) as a whole. The purpose of the Youth Ambassadors program is to promote, encourage, assist and provide opportunities for active engagement among youth with focus on newcomer youth and youth in the Weston-Mount Dennis area.  Members will focus on creating community awareness, planning of community projects, skills development and addressing current issues such as multiculturalism, diversity, civic engagement, healthy living/life skills, and anti-oppression. Members will gain skills in leadership, event planning, outreach, community engagement, and fundraising.

Projects in Fall 2011 included promoting World Food Day, selling ribbons for World AIDS Day and creating short educational videos to promote Anti-Racism & Healthy Sexuality.

Examples of possible upcoming projects include environmental projects, fundraising for TTC tickets for FYI participants, and serving food at a local soup kitchen.  We may also hold a fundraiser for Habitat for Humanity or another charity which focuses on international development issues. Youth Ambassadors will have input into how they wish to make a change in their community.
