 BUILDING RESILIENT YOUTH- Practical Tips for Helping Your Teen Make Healthy Choices:

This new resource was created by the IPSAP team, Toronto Drug Strategy Prevention workgroup, in partnership with Parent Action on Drugs, addressing the role parents and caregivers of teenagers have in building resilient teens.

It's format is a 4 page colour brochure with text and photos of teens with their peers and teens with their parents.Reading level is grade 7/8. (see attached copy)

Headings are: How can you help your teen make good decisions?, What is 'resilience'?, How can you help your teen stay on track? There are brief sentences under each heading.
The 4 messages are: Listen to what your teen has to say; Praise your teen's efforts and respect their individuality; Let your teen know what behaviour you expect; Set a good example yourself;  accompanied by a brief discussion under each heading.

Translations are planned for French (completed), Chinese (traditional and simplified scripts), Urdu, Punjabi, Bengali, Russian, Farsi, Tamil, Spanish and Arabic. The translations will appear on the TPH website.
